MacBook Air stuck after macOS Catalina update

I updated my mac air from macOS High Sierra to macOS Catalina. It took overnight to fully update. When I was at the log in page, I typed in my password and it took me to the loading screen. It’s been over an hour and the bar seems to be stuck.
