documents wont open after a reset

I had to do a hard reset on my MacBook Pro 13inch. Since I uploaded everything back onto my desktop using my iCloud, none of my documents will open up. I use pages and nothing will open. It tries to open them, but nothing happens.

I can not open anymore documents (Word, Excel, Ppts,...) on my MacBook Air since a couple of months. What can I do to recuperate these docs ? Can anybody help how I can get hold of my documents and open them again. Several of my own documents are not to be opened. Example of one of the documents I can not open anymore since a couple of months !

Folder disappeared from DOCUMENTS I had a folder in iCloud Drive but I moved it to documents on the Mac to take up less space as it contained files I didn't use frequently. The aforementioned folder is gone, in fact I can't even access the Mac Documents because I get this message: "documents cannot be opened because the original element cannot be found" I called Apple but they don't understand the problem. The folder is NOT in the trash is completely gone. Among other things, I tried to move other files in the mac documents to understand what could happen or if at least I was able to open them and this happens: "you can place items in documents but you will no longer be able to view them. continue? other users with sufficient permissions will be able to use these elements " Anyone have a solution? Thank you

ICloud not uploading. No files are getting added. Also lost documents Hello I recently paid to upgrade my Icloud stoarage from 5gb to 200gb, but it will not work at all on my Mac. The first thing I tried was switching on Desktop & Documents Folders. I thought it was working, but then I saw many folders were stuck with 'Waiting to Upload'. I checked the storage avaliable and nothing is changing: I then turned Desktop & Documents off again and suddenly all of my documents are gone!!! It says I have 7.16 GB of documents, but when expanding it nothing is there. The only way I can see my documents is when running 'ls' in the Documents folder in the terminal.

Use safe mode to try to isolate the cause of the issue.

Once in Safe Mode, click the “Restart” button at the bottom of the screen to exit Safe Mode.

Test.
