unlock imac with no keyboard

My IMAC is locked and the wireless keyboard died. I bought a new wireless keyboard but can’t connect. Is there a way to connect the wireless keyboard without unlocking the computer? Can I get access through my IPAD or a laptop on the same Apple account? Trying to avoid having to go get a usb keyboard the returning it.
