I have an iPhone 6plus and am trying to update my ios from 12.4.4 to 13 via my desktop. It's telling me my iPhone software is up to date. How do I get the latest ios?

I never said my iWatch didn't work with my iPhone 6plus...I'm not able to update my OS on my watch without updating the OS on my iPhone!!! I'm trying to ultimately update my watch to 6.1.1 but can't do so without the OS update to my iPhone.

WatchOS 6 can update without using an iPhone ... but earlier versions of WatchOS require the iPhone to start the WatchOS update.
The iPhone 6 and 6+ cannot update beyond iOS 12.4.4.
For iOS 13 and later, you need a newer iPhone.
An iOS device running 12.4.4 doesn't have enough RAM for 13 or above.

I really don't use the iPhone anymore because I'm using my $1300 iWatch! Are you telling me that to update the iOS to 13 on my series 4 watch, I have to purchase a new iPhone????
If you have an Apple Watch that is running OS 6, you need an iPhone that is running iOS 13, which requires an iPhone 6S or newer.
Not a new watch...version 5.3.4 (16U627)...
I been able to update the iOS (iPhone and watch) all this time just have not been able to update to iOS13
The watch with Watch OS 5 should work with your iPhone 6.
While it has been said several times in this thread, perhaps you didn’t understand the answer. So here it is again:
YOU CAN NOT INSTALL iOS 13 ON AN iPHONE 6 OR iPHONE 6 PLUS.
Do you understand now?
If you want to update your Watch you will need an iPhone that can run iOS 13.x. If you don't want to upgrade your iPhone keep running watchOS 5.3.2. Those are your options.
