WhatsApp Backup

Hello,

I recently bought the IPhone 11pro, and redownloaded everything. When I downloaded WhatsApp, it says that there’s no backup found. But on my old phone, when I logged into WhatsApp again. It says that there’s a backup available to restore. It seems like my new phone doesn’t have the backup yet, or something Idk. Can anyone help

I don't remember if I have a recent backup, If I will erase and reinstall the app will it cause all the lost of data from WhatsApp? Where can I see whether there is backup for the app if the app itself isn't working? is it possible to see if there is a recent backup through the iCloud somehow? Thank you, M
