Mp3 to Podcast

I would like to listen to some Mp3 files on Podcast. I have found them in Music, but it will not allow me to change the media type from Music to Podcast. Any suggestions?

The podcasts still appear in Music and when I right click and go to "get info" --> Options --> Media Type, the only thing present in the drop down is "Music". Anyone have a fix? I'd prefer it to be in the podcast app so when I push it to my iPhone, it appears there and I can mess with the playback speed.

How to download MP3 versions of Podcasts? I just got a swim MP3 player that only accepts MP3 or WMA. I was wondering how to download Podcasts in those formats so I can listen to them on this MP3 player?

The new Podcasts app in Catalina doesn't have a way to accept content transferred from Music by changing the media kind, nor can you directly import locally stored media files to have them treated as podcasts.
