Fake AirPod Pro's?

I bought these used, from a private party on Facebook.

The Earbuds each having a serial number, which matches with the charging case.

The charging case, when opened next to my iPhone XS Max, displays a fully charged system, until one earbud is removed, which it then drops down to 1% (the other earbud, and the charging case).

The serial numbers on each earbud, and the charging case match, however, it is not even close to the same serial number on the box the AirPod Pro's came in.

The connectivity is also very wanky, compared to my AirPod Gen 2's.

Any thoughts?

If the serial numbers do not match the serial number on the box, I would say that is a red flag enough to be suspicious of if these are genuine are not.
