I just bought and installed the Apple TV 4K streaming device. It's supposed to come with a free 1 year subscription to AppleTV+ . The option to subscribe for 1 year does not appear, only the 7 day free trial. How do I access the 1-year offer?

I bought an Apple TV device last year on 01.12.2020. Since then I don't see the 1 year free subscription. How should I proceed further so I can get it?
