Late 2011 iMac refuses to install anything
First off, I couldn’t post this to a topic for older unibody macs. So, I bought this iMac from a school system recently. I already have a mid 2011 imac and I thought to buy another. They told me they got rid of it because it refused to image and update. So I erase the hard drive and tried to reinstall Mac OS lion with the recovery process. It failed time and time again. I used many Mac OS operating systems and it wouldn’t install, only showing me errors. So I took apart the machine and replaced the hard drive. Of course the hard drive fan is loud as **** now. The hard drive came from a mid 2006 iMac I had in middle school. It was formatted and it still didn’t work. I tried mountain lion and it finally installed. So I tried to update it and every time it’ll give me a message for software updates(picture below). I tried high sierra and won’t install either. What is going on? The only mods I did was the ram from 2gb to 8gb and install a new hard drive. Keep in mind if your a veteran apple user like me that these are the first updates apple pushed out for mountain lion.
