How can I connect my iphone headphones to my macbook pro?

I am not sure how to connect my apple headphones with the lighting connector to my MacBook Pro as it only has a 3.5mm headphone jack. I am a new MacBook user, so please forgive the silly question!

The short answer is: You really can't, not without attempting some odd trickery with dongles I'm not even sure exist. Sorry.
