Take the laptop to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to be repaired. It may qualify for the free Apple backlight repair program listed here:

https://support.apple.com/13-inch-macbook-pro-display-backlight-service

If you open the display slowly & carefully you may be able to open it far enough to use it or at least allow you to back up the computer before taking it in for service.

FYI, here is the current list of publicly acknowledged free repair programs for various Apple products. Some products have multiple free repair programs available.
