Apple TV 4K flickering in dark areas

Hi.

So me and alot of other users at AVForum have an issue with the Apple TV 4K.

When the Apple TV is outputting 4K 24hz 4:4:4 8bit there will be flickering in darker areas of movies.

This happens when showing 4K SDR content and 1080p SDR content when the Apple TV is upscaling.

To fix this issue you can disable the automatic frame rate matching and the Apple TV will output 4K 60hz 4:4:4 8bit instead. This however creates another issue with 24fps movies having 3:2 pulldown judder.

Does anyone know if Apple has ever commented on this issue or is this completely hopeless to get fixed?
