catalina finder issues, including 8003 error

I've run in to situations were I can't copy from USB to HD Documents folder. When it fails I get an error message 8003 and usually the files not copied, but occasionally they do. When it fails I can paste the files in to the Downloads folder then copy to the original destination.

After receiving an 8003 error an application such as preview or Libreoffice will not open a document, but I can create a new document.

This 8003 error issue usually occurs after the Mac has been idle for several hours, like over night as I have been leaving it on all the time. Often when the error occurs TimeMachine is running.

I can solve this whole 8003 issue by restarting the Mac. BTW the user has administrator privileges.

Any suggestions? Oh, BTW the current user with these issues was created after the upgrade. The user account in use during the upgrade is not being used due to multiple usability issues.

Well I solved my issue by turning the PC off each evening. When I do this the issue of the 8003 error, doesn't occur. So I presume it has something to do with permissions and the date change. It is strange that it only effects some aspects of operation.
