iPhone won’t show up on iTunes

I open iTunes on my pc windows 10, all to the newest updates and whenever I plug my iPhone into the pc USB port iTunes won’t acknowledge it. I plugged my roommates iPhone in and it worked perfectly. There is a problem with my iPhone 8 and I searched everywhere and can’t find a solution.
