Apple Watch problem

I got an Apple Watch 5 a couple weeks ago. It was working great until last night. I charged my watch last night and after I took it off the charger and put it back on it will no longer show the watch face. It shows a mini clock icon with dots spinning around it. The buttons both work and it will run other apps but I can’t get the watch face to show. I restarted the watch a couple times. It shows the watch face immediately after the restart but once the screen shuts off and I try to turn it back on I get the icon with the spinning dots. I also tried unpairing, pairing and restoring but still have the same problems. Has anyone seen this happen before? I’m hoping to avoid a trip to the Apple store but it’s not looking good.

Update - I gave up trying different things and put in on the charger for the night. When I got up this morning everything was working again. Hopefully it was a one time issue. Photo of the watch screen is below. I forgot to attach it to my original post.

Try a forced reset;

To force reset your Apple Watch, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.
