1- Connect your iPhone to your Mac via it's cable and unlock the iPhone.

2 - open a new Finder window and click on your iPhone in the sidebar.

3 - click on Music and the checkboxes that are appropriate to you.

Thanks that worked. I found the answer using google. Couldn't find it on Apple though. Only by asking the question.
