Numbers version 6.2 (6520) and Catalina
I'm having problems reading my older spreadsheets with the newer version of Numbers. No error code, just says " the file can't be opened. Anyone encounter this?
MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15

Can you post a screenshot of the file (in the finder) you are trying to open, and describe how you are opening the file?
I haven't upgraded to Catalina yet because of known App compatibility issues. I'm not sure when I'll upgrade.
After Catalina 6.2, I also get the message "can not open this file" when attempting to open numbers files. This happens on established files and also on new files using templates. The new templated file can be saved but not reopened. My files are on iCloud.
Well, not sure what was causing the issue with the spreadsheets but all I did was shut the machine down and now they work. Happy but would love to know what the issue was.
Shutting down the machine seemed to fix it but I have no clue why.
Thank you, Thank you ! Rebooting the machine fixed the problem. I should have thought of the simplest fix first. Good Job.!
