I updated to Catalina and now when I am in the iTunes store on my mac (not my phone or iPad), there is no search bar.
How do I get it back or how do I search for songs I want to purchase?
Yes I have googled, and there is no solution.
Seems others have also had this problem.
Come on Apple sort it out!

I agree. The new interface is completely counterintuitive and certainly not user friendly. I had to read several forums before I figured it out. My guess is they made it hard to drive us to Apple Music. Not happy! It's only AFTER you click into the search box on the left that an option to search the store comes up on the top right.

I tried typing my search into the bar and then tapping iTunes store, which is not on the right, but on the left under my music library. I cannot see iTunes store anywhere else on the page, for example at the top right. That process does not search the iTunes store, only my library. Any other ideas?
It is somewhat counterintuitive, but if you type your search terms into the box at the top left, and then tap iTunes Store at the top right you should get search results from the store.

How did you get it to work? I tried typing in the search box at the top left and then hitting iTunes Store but only the main page for iTunes Store showed up. What am I doing wrong?
Never mind. I wasn’t clicking iTunes on the top right!
Thanks, your mistake helped me. This is a terrible example of design. I have wasted 45 minutes looking for the search box. When has search ever depended on a follow up click?
