iMessages appear on iPhone but not ipad

Before the latest update, when someone sent me a imessage on my iPhone it would appear on my iPad in the imessage area as well. Now this doesn't happen. Is there a way to make this appen again? This problem started sometime after Oct 18, 2019. Both devices are using latest iOS 13.1.3. iMessages do pop up on my Apple Watch 3 but don”t show up on iPad.
