Apple watch touch screen not working properly

Ive had my Apple Watch for over 2 years now and for some reason the touch screen can be very unresponsive and will start opening random applications or will not do what i need it to do. the screen will only work with a very soft touch. how can i fix this problem (without spending a lot of money unless necessary)?
