I PHONE + I WATCH + CAR PLAY = ???

Dear all,

Recently purchased I WATCH 4.

But to my unpleasant surprise the combination a.m. mentioned: iPhone(8+) iWatch and carplay does not work.

Carplay tells me it is not possible to be paired with iPhone because the iPhone is paired with the iWatch via bluetooth-same message on the iPhone. And the connection between the carplay and iPhone is via cable.

Is there a solution for this situation? Or when I drive I must shutdown the iwatch in order to use the Carplay?

Any shared experience will be helpful for me.

Hello Delyan13,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand from the information you provided that you’re having trouble connecting to CarPlay and your Apple Watch; I'd like to help.

The following support article provides some troubleshooting steps to try for this behavior:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod doesn't connect to or work in your car

You're best bet may be to update your iPhone:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch:

Update your Apple Watch

Then temporarily disconnect your Apple Watch, and try connecting to CarPlay, just to establish an initial connection. Then see if you can have both on at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.
