Podcasts on my iPod classic.is it still possible?

I love my iPod classic. I listen to podcasts at night, off line, without a phone on. It seems the new system is stopping that - I am not always on line when I listen eg camping but it seems the expectation is that everyone uses phones or new iPods. I do have a windows laptop and could start all over again but my large music library is on the Mac so I would lose that. Can anyone help me...and if Apple see this I am really unhappy about making a good working piece of equipment obsolete.

Assuming you've updated to Catalina see What happened to iTunes? - Apple Support. Syncing podcasts with an iPod classic via Finder should be possible, although others are reporting issues syncing to classic with the new software. It isn't helped by lack of any sync progress information during syncing.

You select your connected device in Finder in Catalina. There you will see the options for syncing different media types to it.

Hi thanks but I don’t know how you would do it by Finder. I can go to the podcasts app via finder but there is not option to sync podcasts at all to a device?
