I just downloaded the new Catalina o/s and now my previously purchased Microsoft Office will not load?

Do not want or need to go to Office 365.

you need office 2016 or higher.

What version of Microsoft Office is it? what happens when you try to use it?

Office 2008 and 2011 will not work on Catalina as they are 32 bit.

2016, 2019 and 365 will work.
