A message saying I have a virus legitimate or a scam?
MacBook
It is always a scam. No-one can detect remotely whether you have a virus: and it's most unlikely you do anyway: there are no viruses in the wild affecting Macs. DO NOT ever respond to these messages: at best they are trying to sell you useless and possibly dangerous software.
