I have searched but cannot find anything on turning a folder pathname into a clickable link that I can have pasted in a document.
Essentially, I want to have a document that has a link on it that will open a finder window with the contents of that folder displayed.
I know how to get the pathname - but what do I add to make it a link?

It varies depending on the program. In some cases, add file:// before the path; others may require an application-specific hyperlink function. You may need to use %20 where the spaces are.
