If you want to cancel the storage, read this.

Downgrade your iCloud storage - Apple Support

Bear in mind that the storage is not tied to the phone itself, it is tied to your iCloud account. If you want to continue to use the storage, you need not do anything, other than maybe delete the old phone backup if you want to free up that space.
