iTunes Music Folder Changes

Hi, I have set my iTunes music folder to a subdirectory on a network drive. Every time I close and restart iTunes the music folder reverts to a directory on C: Drive. How can I make sure that the iTunes music folder stays where I want it to on the network drive?

Music folders/files are added to iTunes Media folder instead of Music subdirectory I recently migrated my iTunes library between hard drives on my Win10 PC (iTunes version 12.11.4.15) . After copying all content, I launched iTunes with the Shift key held down and was prompted to specify which database file to use, selecting the "iTunes Library.itl" file in the new location. Judging from iTunes Preferences, the path to the iTunes Media folder updated properly (see screenshot). Also, when viewing Song Info for individual tracks, the File tab displays an accurate pathname to each one (utilizing the new drive letter as well as the Music subdirectory beneath the iTunes Media folder location). These preferences match those in use when my library was on the previous drive, and importing CDs had always placed the resultant folders/files into the \iTunes\iTunes Music\Music\ subdirectory as expected. However, now these folders/files are being added to the \iTunes\iTunes Music\ directory itself, which is the root level of the iTunes Media path specified by Preferences. I'm a bit confused as to why this behavior changed and have had no luck attempting to determine the cause from researching other support posts. Please advise as to any possible remedy. Thanks!

Music in one drive cloud Music stored in my one drive cloud folder is not recognized in iTunes library. What settings need to be changed? This is a new computer with windows 11.

refreshing itunes library from windows pc folder I have a folder on my windows pc computer that houses all of my mp3 music files. I import them into itunes library but have trouble trying to refresh the library if I add a song to my folder. How do I refresh the itunes library with new songs in my windows folder.

There is a bug in recent builds of iTunes for Windows which means it forgets the path to the media folder. See Make a split library portable - Apple Community and put your library in a shape that isn't affected by the issue and is easier to backup and move around in future.

Thanks for the help. I chose to create a new library on the network drive and rebuild everything. I little cumbersome and I will try and learn more from you tips that you wrote.
