lost playlists on apple music

I had Apple Music before and didn't resubscribe. When I renewed it now after months, none of my playlists are there. I know that if we use Spotify and cancel but then get it back later, all your playlists are still there. Is there a way to get my old playlists back?

Can I recover my Playlists after unsubscribing? About 2 years ago I was a big apple music listener but traveled to South America for 2 years, canceled my subscription, and did not have access to apple music at that time. I returned about a week ago and have already resubscribed to apple music but none of my playlists or songs from before appear in my apple music library. Will they come back and are just synchronizing or something? Is there a way to recover them if not? Thank you for your time.

Mac Music Playlists Disappeared I recently cancelled a 5-month Apple Music trial. A week later I went in to Music on my Mac and discovered that about 90% of my playlists have disappeared. Many years worth. The same has happened on my iPhone now because I had synced that before I realised. Are these gone forever? If I want to protect playlists in future is the solution to never use Apple Music streaming service again?
