New to Apple. I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I don't have the time to search every post. I am required to keep data on a usb drive. Due to regulations I CANNOT have the data on a cloud server. I'm considering a new iPad and need to know if there is anyway to access the usb? I bought an Apple usb dongle but it will only work with photos. I need to access data. Is this even possible or do I need to go with a different OS?

At this time iPad does not work with USB external storage. Apple has announced that as apart of this Fall’s iPadOS 13 release that iPad will work with USB external storage. I am anticipating iPadOS 13’s release will be within the next few weeks although Apple has not set an official date yet.
