unable to send emails
I have an iPhone 6. When I try to send an email I get a message saying my email address has been rejected by the server. My wemail address is GMail based but does not end in Gmail.com.

Is this a school address? Many colleges are using some type of Google mail in many places. If that is the case, you need to contact the school's IT department. If it is something else, you need to contact the provider that got you access to that mail for help.
