IPhone 8+ earphones not working

i recently bought an iphone 8 plus. i have been trying to play music using my earphones but its not working. the music keeps playing from the phone an not earphones. kindly help

Audio not playing through earphones So I was trying to listen to music from my iPhone using Bluetooth earphones but despite the earphones saying they were connected to my phone, the audio continued to play through the phones speaker however since the earphones are old I assumed it was just something wrong with them. Later however I tried listening with regular earphones and the audio still only plays through the speakers. I’m pretty sure my earphones work so is there something wrong with my phone? What should I do?

Hello,

Start here: If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

If no help, try this:

1) Open the Control Center

2) 3D press (or long press) on the music controls

3) Select the output option (little up-arrow with circles)

4) Select headphones
