Broken mac screen

Please can someone help

When I turn my Mac the screen isn’t black but it’s like blank - kind of dark blue as though it is on behind the screen but not showing a display

After a while there are some lighter blue vertical lines and when I move the mouse is has a shadow like it is still tracking but the screen is blank

After a few minutes the screen came on for a moment, asked me to reset the password and went blank again when I click

Does anyone know or have seen this before?

If a reboot doesn’t clear this, and if Safe Mode also has issues with the display, and if performing both an NVRAM and an SMC reset doesn’t clear this, it would then seem there’s potentially bad hardware here.
