Notifications appearing at top left instead of top right since 10.14.6 update

Since updating my OS to 10.14.6 today, I've noticed that my notifications are appearing at the upper left of the display instead of the upper right. Clicking to open the notification pane also has it anchoring to the left of the screen instead of the more usual right.

How can I fix this, please?

Boot into Safe Mode and check the notifications from there. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
