moving os from hdd to ssd
Has anybody moved Mac OS 10.13.6 from an iMac HDD to an SSD (backup is on Time Machine USB external HDD?)
I am wondering what pitfalls await!
iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

I am familiar with Carbon Copy Cloner from my PC days.
But, wouldn't it be simpler to boot into Recovery Mode and restore the SSD from the Time Machine Backup?
(After Initialing the SSD to HFS+ Journaled if necessary.)

Best way is to Format SSD to HFS+ Journaled & then use Carbon Copy Cloner...
Tough to tell which is faster, but I'd think CCC would be faster if there were much differences at all.
I would install the OS on the empty drive and then Migrate my users (and perhaps the applications unless you'd just like to clean that up).
