Logic Pro X 10.4.5 on Mac OS X 10.14.5 (18F132) crashes every single time when I try to open it. It says "Scanning Audio Units (finalized 0 of 3)" hangs for a few seconds and then crashes.
Does anybody have a solution to this? Is there a way to view a log file of what the problem Audio Unit caused the crash (if that was the case)?

Same thing happened to me - I had just installed a Melodyne Trial. I'm also running Catalina.
After uninstalling Melodyne (uninstaller also removed plug-in) things worked okay. @pancenter probably has the right idea.
What non logic plugins are in your components folder? Have you tried hitting "abort" when the plugin scan
starts?
I did, but that just quits / crashes the app for some reason.
Great idea, but it doesn't seem to bypass the Audio Unit scan...it exhibits the same behavior. Ugh. 😑
I guess you move the 3rd party instruments out of your User/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components folder and putting them back in one at a time until you find the culprit.
OMG, that was it! Uninstalled Melodyne and it opened immediately. Weird...but so glad that worked.
Andrew you will find ohter related problems with Logic on Catalina. Have you tried "Bouncing" a project yet?
Yes! Has been giving me fits! Cannot for the life of me figure out how to Bounce OR Share. Also Logic keeps hanging if I change audio input/output aka unplugging my external audio interface.
