iCloud breech

I received a phone call stating my ICloud had been breached. The instructions stated to not perform any on line transactions and to press 1 to speak with an apple representative. At this time I hung up. Was this a scam as I suspected?

It's a scammer. Apple will never initiate telephone contact with a customer.
