How do you lock your screen on phone as instructed in backup instructions?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 12

You only need to have the screen locked for an automatic backup to happen. If you are backing up to iCloud via the Backup Now option, the screen doesn't need to be locked.


I normally just let my screen lock automatically based on the time selected in Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock, but you can also lock it manually via the button on the right side.
