I just got an email from "Apple Confirmation Purchase" thanking me for receipt of payment for something I have not and never would purchase. I think this happened before. I don't want to ignore this if it is something I should worry about. Advise, please.
I would say that you can ignore it, but it would be best for your to consult these Support Articles: If you see 'itunes.com/bill' or an unfamiliar charge on your statement - Apple Support/See your purchase history in the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support to confirm.
It sounds like Phishing to me. Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support will help you confirm my suspicion.
