I’m trying to use screen mirroring with my iPad and Netflix to my Apple TV and it doesn’t seem to exist anymore. I asked Siri and she doesn’t know what screen mirroring or airplay is. I tried searching Apple communities and there are no articles since 2014. I tried Apple support on twitter and got no response. Help! Thanks.

You can’t swipe up and select mirroring anymore on iPad.
Please know that the gesture has changed for some devices:
“To open Control Center on iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.”

That doesn’t change iOS Netflix limitations, though.

Thanks! I thought that might be the case, but why does it work from my phone and not iPad? You can’t swipe up and select mirroring anymore on iPad. In this particular case, because the movie is downloaded on my iPad but not on Netflix anymore, so I couldn’t watch it on my phone.

Are you able to screen mirror anything from the iPad to Apple TV? If not, then there might be an issue with your iPad and/or how you're connecting to your Wi-Fi (e.g. a different network than your Apple TV, such as a guest network). Make sure that you're iPad and Apple TV are on the exact same Wi-Fi, and if you still can't mirror anything then try resetting the iPad.
Netflix removed airplay support, it won’t work no matter which device is being used. Downloaded content was never able to use airplay as it was blocked due to licensing restrictions.
I believe that the Netflix app may prevent screen mirroring, this is not uncommon among video streaming services.
Why not use the Netflix app directly from your Apple TV?
