Why have a PDF reader on the Mac OS that does not work on the iOS platform? Documents I download to Preview on my Mac stay there unless I share them as read-only docs with Reading List or iCloud Drive for mobility. This is wasteful of really good PDF software. Obviously I could use another app that does sync across platforms. But, I like Preview, and would like to see it in tandem with the iOS platform. Is that going to happen in the near future?

You can easily share these documents from Preview with nearby iOS devices using AirDrop.
Simply use the "Share" icon in Preview, then choose "AirDrop".

Thanks for your reply, but I’m not looking for another way to read docs. I’m hoping Apple will extend their Preview app to iPad. Then, I can use “Handoff” to smoothly move pdf docs from Mac to iPad and back.
